The sold-out celebration marked the presentation of the 2025 Town Hall Vanguard Award to Miranda, recognizing his visionary contributions that align with Town Hall’s mission of artistic excellence, civic engagement, and community impact.

Directed by Deanna Weiner, with music arranged by Kurt Crowley and Sean Mayes and performed by The Town Hall’s 20-piece resident orchestra Pops of Color, the concert traced Miranda’s creative journey—from early works to landmark productions like Hamilton, In the Heights, Freestyle Love Supreme, and his latest concept album, Warriors.

Keeping the honoree in the dark, the evening unfolded as a complete surprise for Miranda, featuring an electric lineup of friends, collaborators, and admirers from stage and screen. Among the presenters and performers were the legend Rita Moreno, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, musician and comedian “Weird Al” Yankovic, Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter, fitness icon Robin Arzon, and an incredible lineup of iconic Broadway stars (see full list below or see their photos and bios HERE).
